Been searching all night for a way to display my latest post on my homepage. And i did it in the end using and modifying this script to display RSS Works quire well really and there are many options on there to customise it however you want. I chose to keep it simple so as to have my transparent background still showing. There are many complicated scripts that I found on hotscripts but this did it for me in no time at all.
